A Bridal Shower for Sarah

My friend Sarah is getting married in November! Her wonderful mother planned a lingerie/bridal shower this evening that I went to, and I have to say it was nice spending a little girl time with my fellow ladies. Not that I don’t love my husband, but he just can’t talk about shopping the same as the girls. Sarah was so excited, as she should be. AND she got some pretty useful things I think her husband will appreciate. I stole these pictures from her mom

I love all the anticipation before the wedding; all of the showers and preparations were so much fun. To quote Sarah, “it’s like Christmas!” Of course the preperations  were also so much stress when I was going through it not too long ago myself ! I gotta say, I’m glad all the planning is over. After the pre-wedding planning is done, then there’s always the fun of trying to sucker your new husband into helping you with the thank you cards. Mine licked the envelopes and called it a day.

Of course, I took the opportunity to attack the buffet table. I can’t count the number of meatballs and crackers with spinach dip that I ate…I couldn’t help it, I’m beginning to take the whole opportunity to truly “eat for two.” Is it healthy to gain 80 pounds? I’ll have to consult my books…

 

We all shared some advice for Sarah for when she moves back to England with her hubby. Mine was: “I realized when I got married that boys eat A LOT. So invest in a good slow cooker.” This picture is my favorite Sarah I’m going to miss you!
